I am a professional costume technician (since 1998) and am currently employed as a First Hand in the costume shop at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. I have experience as a Draper, First Hand, Stitcher, and Tailor. I have also done work for Writers' Theatre, The Guthrie Theater, The Goodman Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, Skylight Music Theatre, The Milwaukee Ballet, American Players Theatre, Optimist Theatre, Virginia Opera, and Renaissance Entertainment Productions - Bristol Renaissance Faire.
2013-2014: The Milwaukee Repertory Theater Costume Shop collaborated with the Jewish Museum of Milwaukee on their Fall 2014 exhibit about Hedwig Strnad, Stitching History from the Holocaust; I was the MRT Costume Shop project manager and also worked as a draper/first hand/stitcher on this project.

In addition to my costume background in the world of professional theatre I have experience with industrial sewing; stitching Naugahyde and vinyl seat covers, nylon golf bags, American flags and other large banner type items for a local Milwaukee company during my summer lay-offs. Historical fashion and clothing are two of my passions. I am a collector of vintage clothing and accessories, antique and vintage books, manuals, and ephemera relating to the needle crafts, tailoring, sewing, and fashion. I am involved in living history and am a member of the WWII Historical Re-Enactment Society, Inc. and the Warbirds Living History Group. I am a knitter, a gardening enthusiast, an aviation enthusiast and EAA member, an amateur/hobbyist photographer, and I also collect and enjoy using vintage film cameras.

My Resume: Jessica Hartman Jaeger -- Costume Technician

On rare occasion I will accept sewing and costume commissions; my services include bespoke and made-to-order/made-to-measure. My prices reflect a high level of individualization and quality craftsmanship, Wal-Mart or your local off the rack costume shop I am not. Please keep that in mind when considering a custom commission. I do not operate on a mail order basis; a full set of measurements are required, as are multiple fittings. Measurements and fittings need to be done by me, in person, face-to-face. Here are some helpful links about Bespoke and Made-to-Order:
